US College Admission Tests
There are two major college entrance examinations administered in the United States today: the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) and the ACT(American College Testing).
These are standardised tests designed to allow college admissions officers to apply a common measurement to all student applications. Many colleges accept either the SAT or ACT, but some require one or the other.
Scores on these tests can compensate for differences in high school curriculum, grade inflation, and quality of teaching.
They serve as a reliable indicator of how they expect you to perform academically in your first year (freshman year) of college.
