Soccer Scholarships at US Universities
A U.S College Soccer scholarship gives you the opportunity to attend university whilst at the same time continuing to play football at a high level.
Football, or Soccer, as the US call it, was until relatively recently more of a regional game than it is today. Professional teams are now rapidly improving with the United States women’s team being one of the best teams in the world.
Our Sports Scholarships Programme involves a 12 day Trials Showcase in Florida each July. It focuses on students specialising in Golf , Football, Tennis and Basketball.
Participation in the international trials programme secures University scholarships based on a students performance over the 12 day event. College coaches and Sports admissions representatives from over 70 accredited American universities, from 27 different U.S. States attend the programme.
Benefits of the U.S
Many football players who have academic ambitions move to the US safe in the knowledge that they can select their programme of study from a wide ranging choice of subjects. Another major factor in choosing to attend a US College are the fantastic facilities that are on offer to aspiring young athletes. The woman’s soccer is well funded in the US University system. College are obliged to invest an equal amount in women’s sport as they do in men’s.
When to apply
The best time to attend the Showcase in at the end of Year 12. This gives you a whole year to plan and prepare for your US experience. We do get several applicants who attend at the end of their A level exams, however logistically it is very intense, attending the Showcase in July, returning home choosing and applying to your chosen University, and returning out for the end of August.
Soccer is an Autumn season sport, so the best time to start with your USA scholarship is in August. By applying for August you can be part of the team the whole year. If you choose to start in the spring, the number of offered soccer scholarships would be limited. The best time to start your US undergraduate degree course is August, as it offers you the maximum opportunity to be part of the team during the season.
The Showcase Trials
Participants reside in university campuses in dormitories equipped with a/c, 24-hour security, computer lab, library, swimming pool, and access to all other athletic and academic facilities. Additionally, participants have access to permanent medical attention; replicating the life-style that an international student would normally experience once at an American university.
They evaluate candidates' academic profile and sports ability via a series of Soccer/ Football competitions. They then recruit them to be enrolled to their universities by offering scholarships.
During the selection process, participants enjoy a face-to-face and open contact with coaches and representatives from different universities. In other words, there are no intermediaries in the coach-participant relationship since our Staff are there to assist its participants who are the final decision makers.
Beyond from the eventful schedule of practices and games, the Programme offers various cultural, social and educational activities in each region including cultural visits, university campus tours, presentations by the universities, participating in a college fair, college classes, recreational theme parks, musical performances, and attending professional sporting events.
Institutions: Participating universities are located in 27 states across the United States including California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas among others.
